Be Beautiful!

Power, beauty, freedom, and love. There is a huge drive for women to be powerful, we all want to feel beautiful, living in america gives us the freedom to dress as we wish, and we all want to be loved. The media shows us all these beautiful, powerful ( half naked) women that use sex appeal to get what they want. We are taught that this is normal, and the only way to be beautiful and powerful. Lets check out what the bible says.

"Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come."
-Proverbs 31:25

To be dress in honor and strength. We need to stop looking to the media to tell us who to be and how to dress. Half naked does not get you anywhere but away from God. If you dress inappropriately to ketch a guys attention you are causing him to lust, so it makes it your fault that he is sinning.

Dressing modestly (and fashionably) these days is an art .  A lot of us don't want to make the extra effort to overcome the challenges and dress with grace, beauty, and dignity. Add to that our desire to be found attractive by guys, and we end up with crazy low standards for how we dress. We know that we’ll get more attention from guys in form-fitting tops, tight pants, and short skirts. It’s all very tempting to rationalize immodesty because “at least this outfit isn’t as bad as a lot of things I could wear.” We think that as long as we aren’t going topless on the beach, we have an element of modesty. But what is God’s standard?

"In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array; But (which becometh women professing godliness) with good works"

-1 Tim. 2:9-10

The word modestly literally means “with shame and bashfulness.” In other words, not shamelessly flaunting our bodies, but exuding a sense of careful dignity and guardedness, even in the way we dress. The word discreetly means “to keep hidden.” A woman’s body is for the enjoyment of ONE man alone - her husband. God asks us to not give other men the privilege of viewing what belongs only to the man we will spend the rest of our life with.

It is easy to assume that true modesty means drab, shapeless, unfeminine clothes that make us extremely unattractive. But God’s pattern doesn’t bring oppression and ugliness - it brings liberty and beauty. Contrary to popular belief, feminine beauty does NOT mean sensuality. It is more than possible to show  the kind of dignity, grace, and true feminine beauty that will captivate a man’s heart - without using sex appeal.

Thats true beauty! (=
